Growing up in South America was a very powerful
experience for me, not only because of the wonderfully
amorous people but because of the limitations that a third-world country can have.
Living in
North America for 8 years has made me aware of the
infinite possibilities we all have to make our lives and
ourselves better and to make others’ lives better too.
Being a Buddhism practitioner for years helped me develop
compassion, happiness and balance. All this can be achieved by
living life with a sense of purpose, the purpose of believing in
yourself and helping others.
Please take a moment to review these causes. A percentage of my
income will be donated to help the causes I believe in. If they
don’t interest you I hope you find the ones that resonate with
you-or perhaps you will create your own.

ONE
is a new effort by Americans to rally Americans
– ONE by ONE – to fight the emergency of global
AIDS and extreme poverty. The ONE Campaign is
engaging Americans through a diverse coalition
of faith-based and anti-poverty organizers to
show the steps people can take, ONE by ONE, to
fight global AIDS and poverty.

JUBILEE USA NETWORK. DROP THE DEBT
When
poor countries become deeply indebted they fall
into an abyss of economic degradation. Their
governments owe vast sums to wealthy creditors
countries and
International banks controlled by the wealthy
nations. The majority of the populations from
these countries don't have access to clean
water, adequate housing, or basic health care.
The lives of 19.000 children could be saved
every day if the debt of these countries was
cancelled and savings put to good use.
JUBILEE USA NETWORK works to
free billions of people from the chains of debt.
Ordinary Americans, working with partners around
the world can generate the political will needed
to drop the debt. The U.S. has the most
influence of any nation over creditors and
International banks, however they won't act
unless they think you care!!

KADAMPA BUDDHISM. BUILDING FOR WORLD PEACE
THE INTERNATIONAL TEMPLES PROJECT
Buddha Shakyamuni is the founder of Buddhism.
Buddha explained that all our problems and
suffering arise from confused and negative
states of mind, and that all our happiness and
good fortune arise from peaceful and positive
states of mind. The Buddhist way of life of
peace, loving kindness, and wisdom is just as
relevant today as it was in ancient India. These
methods work for anyone in any country, in any
age, and from any culture. The International
Temples Project is the unfolding of a profound and
compassionate vision to build a Kadampa Buddhist
Temple in every major city of the world.

INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN FOR TIBET. FREE TIBET
Tibet was a distinct nation and maintained its
own government, religion, language, laws, and
customs until the Chinese invasion in 1949.
Since then Tibetans have struggled to regain
their freedom. More than a million Tibetans have
died under the Chinese occupation as a result of
torture, starvation, and execution. More than
6000 monasteries and their contents,
irreplaceable jewels of Tibetan culture have
been destroyed. Tibetans are routinely
imprisoned and tortured for NON-VIOLENTLY
EXPRESSING THEIR VIEWS and freedom of religion
is severely curtailed. The International
Campaign for Tibet works to promote human rights
and self-determination for Tibetans and to
protect their culture and environment.

As human populations swells there are threats to
our eco balance everywhere we look. Perhaps the
greatest environmental tragedy however is the
deforestation of the Amazon rainforest. After
relatively steady decline for the past eight
years, the rate at which Brazil's rainforest is
disappearing climbed by 40% in a single year.
The Rain Forest is the most species rich area on
earth. More than 2000 plants are currently known
to have cancer-fighting properties and less than
10% have been analyzed. There is a general
scientific agreement that the disappearance of
the rainforest will impact everything from
climate change to the air we breath. It's a
vital part of our global balance. Frighteningly,
the current destruction rate has been described
as frenzied.
